rockland first friday artwalk
Participating galleries of Arts in Rockland (AIR) host receptions on the first Friday, as well as Memorial Day Weekend. The Farnsworth Art Museum, The Center for Maine Contemporary Art, and the renovated, historic Strand Theater, anchor twenty three participating galleries. The galleries collaborate with the Farnsworth and offer an art film each month at 8pm. All sites are within seven blocks, making this a very accessible artwalk where it is easy to visit every exhibit in one evening. For more information, please visit the Arts in Rockland webpage.
The Rockland First Friday Artwalk takes place between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

This vibrant downtown is the birthplace of poet Edna St. Vincent Millay and an active working waterfront on beautiful Penobscot Bay. Just a block away from the water lays Main Street, which boasts many galleries, shops and the Farnsworth Museum whose collection of American art celebrates many famous artists’ connections with Maine. In 2010 Rockland was designated as a National Trust for Historic Preservation Distinctive Destination. See also: Rockland Main Street and Penobscot Bay Region Chamber.
