first friday downtown art walk, presque isle

The First Friday Downtown Art Walk began in 2010 as a year-round event where people can meet, unwind and enjoy works by local artists.  Visitors are invited to take a self-guided stroll through downtown Presque Isle and the University galleries to hear live music, meet local authors and artists and experience the heart of our community. Visit Turner Memorial Library Gallery, Wintergreen Arts Center, Merchants on the Corner, Sorpreso, Morning Star Arts and Framing, the Downtown Revitalization Committee, Freddy P’s, the Presque Isle Chamber of Commerce and the University of Maine in Presque Isle.

“The Star City” is a home to University of Maine at Presque Isle.  In addition to First Friday Downtown Art Walk, the city holds an annual First Night Celebration.  See also: Wintergreen Arts Center, Presque Isle Downtown Revitalization, a Main Street organization, and Central Aroostook Chamber.
