2nd friday artwalk: brunswick & topsham
Visit more than 30 creative venues in downtown Topsham & Brunswick. From Maine Fiberarts to Bowdoin College Museum of Art, the mile-long ArtWalk spans the Androscoggin River and two historic downtowns. Galleries, artist studios, the museum and supporting local businesses exhibit fine craft and art, host performances and receptions. Stop at studios for demonstrations, receptions and the chance to meet artists. Many sites are open in Fort Andross, Brunswick’s historic Cabot Mill. Live music on the street and enjoy dinner, music and theater after the ArtWalk. Held on Second Fridays, May – October, since 2004.

It’s all here, all year, in Brunswick. The town is home to Bowdoin College and is known for its arts, culture and fine restaurants. Explore surrounding towns, rich with creativity and natural amenities. Celebrate Summer in Harpswell is an open studio weekend July 9 and 10, 2011. Take in a play at Maine State Music Theatre, The Theater Project, a chamber music concert with Bowdoin International Music Festival. See also Peary-Macmillan Arctic Museum, Pejepscot Historical Society and Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum, Brunswick Downtown Association, and the Southern Midcoast Chamber of Commerce. Brunswick is in the “Mid-Coast” region.

Brunswick is just off I-295, 30 miles north of Portland, 100 miles south of Bangor. Public transportation: Maine Eastern Railroad and Concord Coachlines. The Amtrak Downeaster is scheduled to begin service to Brunswick in 2012.
