Belfast’s Friday Art Walks are miniature arts festivals; they blend the visual arts with performance art and music.  A dozen art venues host receptions celebrating recent works of visual artists – who are usually on the premises – while musicians, dancers, poets, and other performance artists travel up and down the streets parading their talents.  To top it off, Belfast’s Art Walks are every Friday evening in July and August, and the first Friday in May, June, and September through December.

Hours: 5:30-8pm. Some sites open later.

Begin: at any participating venue.  Most are within two square blocks in the center of downtown Belfast.

Belfast is home to hundreds of artists making art a part of Belfast’s personality.  This is clear with all the eclectic shops that line Belfast’s historic and architecturally bold downtown streets.  Belfast lies beside Penobscot Bay.  See also: Belfast Area Chamber.  Belfast is in the “Mid-Coast” region.
