ArtWalk Maine invites you to explore artist studios, galleries, museums, and assorted venues in beautiful downtowns across the state. ArtWalk Maine is your passport to discover the creative communities and working artists of Maine, from Biddeford to Bangor, Portland to Presque Isle.
Each year Maine communities host over eighty artwalks. These self-guided tours lead you to some of Maine’s world-class art museums, galleries, artist studios, local businesses and cafés exhibiting local artwork. You’ll find Maine’s creative spirit alive, well, and accessible to you. An ArtWalk evening may include swank opening receptions, street performances, and visits to open studios. You can view works in progress and even participate in hands-on workshops.
ArtWalks are an intersection of Maine’s contemporary art scene, its historic downtowns, and the natural world. Discover artists of island communities, urban centers and revitalized mills. The fine craftsmanship for which Maine is known is on view year round. Local restaurants are open, performances happen, whether their stage is a theater, sidewalk or town green. ArtWalk communities roll out the red carpet for you.
