Stonington Galleries & Studios will host First Fridays on July 6, Aug. 3 and Sept. 7.  Visit us for an evening of relaxed enjoyment of fine arts and crafts. We are an association of ten businesses encompassing traditional galleries and at-home studios. A new member this year is The Pace House, home and studio of Stephen Pace (1918-2010), which offers artist residencies and a gallery of Pace’s work. Also new is Marlinspike Chandlery featuring artistic nautical weaving and rope work.

Brochures are available at Maine Visitor Centers, the Deer Isle Visitor Center and online at www.stoningtongalleries.com. Check the brochure or web site for hours as each business varies. The brochure also includes a map.

The island of Deer Isle, connected by bridge, is renowned for its beauty, pink granite shores, arts community and traditional fishing culture. The Stonington Galleries and Studios tour is a great introduction to the island.
