downtown augusta artwalk
The Augusta Downtown Alliance in a collaborative venture with the University of Maine Augusta hosts Artwalks on Water Street in Downtown Augusta. This event celebrates the vibrant existing Augusta Downtown community and also unleashes the untapped potential of pure urban rawness that lies within many empty spaces available for rent. All media are be considered, forms including, but not limited to are drawing, painting, mixed media, photography, printmaking, sculpture, installation, fine craft, performance and music. Artists who have participated in past Augusta art walks are encouraged to submit new work that has been created within the last three years.
The Augusta Artwalk takes place between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Map/brochure: Pick up in town.
Begin: Downtown Yoga, 287 Water Street, or at any participating venue.

Visit Old Fort Western, the Maine State Museum, the Colonial Theatre, and the Statehouse. Additional information: Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce. Augusta is the state capital and the regional hub of “Central Maine.” Its entire downtown region is on the National Register of Historic Places.
